Male and Female Headers Provide Unparalleled Design Flexibility in Standard and High-Temperature Applications

Announced today by Sullins Electronics., a global leader in the design and manufacture of board level interconnects, is their 100% RoHS -compliant offering of 0.079″ (2.00 mm) and 0.100″ (2.54 mm) board-to-board connectors. Featured in Sullins’ portfolio of male and female headers are parts in single, double, and quad row configurations, and in both plated through hole (PTH) and surface mount (SMT) versions. The devices are available with standard (PBT) or high temperature-resistant thermoplastic insulated bodies (PA9T or Nylon 6T) to facilitate conventional SMT reflow or vapor phase soldering processes. These headers afford OEMs and assemblers the utmost in design flexibility as they are provided in straight or right-angle terminations and are offered with specifiable pin lengths, and insulator height options.
Boasting the utmost in electrical and mechanical properties to ensure the reliability and integrity of connections, headers are UL94V-0 rated. They are ideally suited for a wide array of high-density board-to-board applications where space is limited, or where total weight is a factor. As a result of their quality construction and ability to withstand continual heat, the RoHS -compliant parts may be confidently employed in a broad range of such industries as testing and process control, as well as telecommunications, computer, security systems, and in general industrial and commercial applications.
Sullins’ 0.79″ (2 mm) contact centers male and female headers feature a current rating of 1 A and are offered with 1, 2 or 4 rows of contacts ranging from 1/2 to 30/60/120 (in single increments), and in overall lengths from 0.079″ to 3.149″ (80.00 mm). Available with 1 or 2 rows of contacts ranging from 1/2 to 36/72 (in single increments), the Company’s 0.100″ (2.54 mm) contact center female headers’ current rating is 3 A. Male headers, with 0.100″ contact centers and .025″ square posts are also offered. These connectors have a current rating of 3 A and may be ordered in 1- or 2-row versions with contacts ranging from 1/2 to 36/72 in overall lengths of from 0.100″ to 3.600 (91.44 mm).
Featuring an operating temperature range of -65 degrees C to +125 degrees C, versions of the headers may be ordered that offer a maximum processing temperature of +260 degrees C for 10 seconds. Devices are provided standard with phosphor bronze, goldplated (0.000010″) contacts and 100% (0.000100″) matte tin over nickel (0.00005″) underplate.
